The Colleyville Baseball Association sanctions several select, skill based 08U to 14U AA, AAA, Majors and High School youth baseball programs. Should you choose to try out for a select team, the commitment should not be taken lightly. The select program is organized under USSSA rules and each player accepted on a Colleyville Select team is registered with USSSA. League play for the select programs are played in the Texas Elite Baseball Association (TEBA). TEBA games are played in a weekly double header game format against other area TEBA Select teams. For the Fall and Spring Season the head coach can choose an 8 to 14 game season.
This is a serious commitment of time, energy, and money for the selected players/parents. Select baseball is NOT an equal play program, however, our coaches goals are to develop all players and will play the kids accordingly. It is a place for those who choose to play a higher level of baseball. Players are "selected" by the team coach based on skill and ability. Team coaches for the select programs are appointed by the Colleyville Baseball Association Board of Directors, and are re-evaluated every season.
Most select teams begin practice in January for Spring and August for Fall. The play games from February through July in Spring and August through December in the Fall. They play numerous games throughout the season that far exceed a rec program, and play numerous USSSA, Travel Sports, and other sanctioned tournaments both locally and remotely. This may include other states as well as tournaments that start on Thursday evenings and may run through a Monday evening. (Including Sunday mornings and evenings).
